Youth Coffee represents innovation, resilience, and generational renewal within the Mount Elgon Coffee and Honey Cooperative Society. Cultivated by 157 young farmers rooted in the heritage of the BAMASABA/GISHU people, this coffee blends tradition with forward-thinking practices.

These youth are not only preserving Mt. Elgon’s coffee legacy—they’re reimagining it. Through climate-smart agriculture, digital tools, and quality-focused production, they are building a future for coffee that is environmentally sustainable and economically viable.

Organized into cooperative sub-groups, these young farmers receive training in Good Agricultural Practices (GAP), responsible land management, and sustainable post-harvest methods. The Youth Coffee initiative addresses rural youth unemployment while fostering long-term resilience in coffee farming.
